About this service

The full scope.

Concrete fails when the base, grading or mix is wrong. We pour and repair driveways, walkways, patios and steps with proper subgrade, reinforcement and finishing.

Concrete looks simple until it cracks, settles or holds water. Most failures start below the surface—an unstable base, poor grading, missing reinforcement or a mix that was not finished correctly for the weather. At Avany Contractors we build concrete work that is meant to stay flat and intact through New Jersey and Pennsylvania winters.

We begin by evaluating the existing surface, subgrade and drainage. Where replacement is needed, we remove the old concrete, correct the base, set forms and reinforcement, and place the new pour with the right slump and slope. Control joints are cut at the right depth and spacing so cracking happens where it should—out of sight.

For repairs, we assess whether the problem is cosmetic or structural. Spalled surfaces, settled slabs and cracked walkways can often be corrected without a full replacement, and we explain the honest options. Serving the region from Trenton, we keep access clear, protect landscaping and finish with clean edges and proper curing.

Light foot traffic is usually safe after 24 to 48 hours, while vehicles should stay off for about seven days. Cure time varies with weather, mix and thickness, and we give you a clear timeline.

Sometimes. Minor cracks and cosmetic spalling can be repaired, but settled slabs often point to a base or drainage problem that will return. We inspect first and recommend repair or replacement based on the cause.

Concrete shrinks as it cures, so some cracking is normal. Proper control joints, reinforcement, a stable base and correct grading keep cracks controlled and prevent the settling and heaving that cause real failures.
